Are you an experienced Metal Cutter / Burner looking for a new varied role in Newbury?

- Work in a well-structured environment with Hot Work Permits and PPE standards to support your safety
- Gain experience working with valuable recyclable metals such as copper, aluminium, and steel
- Monday to Friday - 07:00am to 17:00pm
- 45 hours per week
- £33,000 to £35,500 per annum
- Cut and dismantle transformers using oxy-propane torches and other industry standard cutting tools.
- Prepare units for safe oil extraction following strict environmental procedures.
- Operate in line with site risk assessments, PPE requirements, and hot work permits.
- Maintain burning equipment and conduct pre-use safety checks.
- Assist the Yard Supervisor in planning and prioritising tasks.
- Use forklifts safely to lift and move components.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times.
- Proven experience and training in oxy-fuel cutting (oxy-propane or oxy-acetylene)
- Awareness of Hot Work Permits and adherence to site safety protocols
- Valid forklift licence - Counterbalance
- Experience cutting thick steel and dismantling heavy equipment under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of hazardous materials including safe handling of transformer oils
- Minimum 1 year\'s experience in metal cutting, heavy dismantling, or scrap metal operations (preferred)
