Join our dynamic Environmental Laboratory team at SGS Notting Hill as a Laboratory Technician and play a key role in delivering accurate, high-quality analytical results that help protect our environment. In this full‑time role, you’ll perform testing and reporting on a variety of sample types — including soil, water, air, and other environmental matrices — using both conventional techniques and cutting‑edge instrumentation such as GC, GC/MSMS, HPLC, LC/MSMS, ICP/MS, and FIA across our Inorganic, Organic, and Radio Chemistry sections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare samples and perform analytical and radio chemistry testing, including reporting of results.
  • Conduct laboratory equipment calibrations and routine maintenance.
  • Follow and comply with laboratory QA/QC procedures and NATA accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, protecting equipment and preventing contamination.
  • Continuously update skills and knowledge through training and on‑the‑job development.
  • Use safety equipment correctly at all times and report any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment immediately.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Team Leader.
To Be Successful in This Role
  • Tertiary qualification in Science, preferably Chemistry.
  • Experience working in a general laboratory environment is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying tasks and working hours as required.
