Job description

Role Summary

We are looking for a self‑motivated Aircraft Mechanic, you will be using your experience in aircraft maintenance for all maintenance activities, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in response to our customer's requirements.

You will assist the Engineer with supervising, mentoring, and delegating resources as needed to ensure the smooth running of operations, while meeting Part 145 maintenance requirements, internal processes, and customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

You will uphold our values and culture and mentor those under your supervision.

Main Responsibilities
  • Carrying out maintenance of aircraft as defined by our customer's requirements/List of Work.

  • Working in accordance with company procedures and Human Factors philosophy, using only correctly maintained and uniquely identified personal tooling, company tooling, and calibrated test equipment.

  • Managing internal and external relationships with customers, team members, and support departments, taking an active role in mentoring colleagues.

  • Ensuring correct completion of all maintenance paperwork and forms before the end of each shift, in accordance with MOE Part 2 and procedures.

  • Informing Engineers of any adverse issues affecting safety, productivity, or work progression.

  • Processing and returning any unused material to Stores when practicable, following correct disposal instructions at all times.

  • Ensuring proper storage of aircraft components and tooling, including blanking, labelling, and protection in accordance with company procedures.

  • Maintaining high standards of engineering practice, workplace cleanliness, and FOD prevention measures.

  • Recommending improvements in working conditions, practices, and procedures to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity.

  • Assisting with hangar facility maintenance and general tasks.

  • Performing any other duties as reasonably required to support the needs of the business.

Requirements:
  • Proven track record with a minimum of 3 year's experience in aviation maintenance (including time served during an apprenticeship) within a Part 145 organisation.

  • Ability to use recognised aircraft documentation, including Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives.

  • Good understanding of aircraft systems.

  • Strong structural knowledge, including the ability to carry out structural repairs.

Qualifications and Training:

  • Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in aviation or mechanical engineering.

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above, including Maths and English Language.

  • Initial Human Factors, EWIS, and Fuel Tank Safety training.

  • Experience on the following Aircraft types:

    • B737NG, B737CL, B757, B767, A320 family
