Food Technician
Job summary
A local educational institution is seeking a Food Technician for a full-time, long-term temporary position starting January 2026. The ideal candidate will prepare ingredients for lessons, support teachers during activities, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Candidates should have strong organizational skills, practical experience in food preparation, and a commitment to safeguarding children. Qualifications
- Experience in a Food Technology department or similar role is desirable.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and pupils.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organise ingredients and equipment for lessons.
- Maintain and manage kitchen equipment safely.
- Assist teachers in practical activities.

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the Food Technology department
- Contribute to the smooth running of the department
- Previous experience working in a Food Technology department or similar role is desirable
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and pupils
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in an educational setting
- Practical skills to support food preparation and cooking activities
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
