About the role

We are excited to recruit for a Finance Manager – UK, Pureplayer & Australia to play a key role in driving insight and supporting strategic decision-making to support Charlotte Tilbury’s ongoing success in our home market as well as Australia and New Zealand territories.

The Finance Manager is responsible for finance business partnering with Charlotte Tilbury’s UK, Pureplayer, Australia, and New Zealand regional teams. The role involves ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial performance, as well as delivering commercially robust budgets and forecasts, to support the growth and delivery of market results across the regions.

Reporting into Head of Finance for the region, the Finance Manager will have direct line management and career development responsibility for two Analysts.

Role responsibilities
  • Month end closing and reporting: Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end closing activities in accordance with Group policies and deadlines, including thorough reviews of all sales and cost general ledger accounts and comprehensive variance analysis.
  • Balance Sheet reviews: Perform monthly reviews of all Balance Sheet function accruals, proactively resolving aged or material items to maintain accuracy and transparency.
  • SLT P&L reviews: Lead monthly Senior Leadership Team (SLT) P&L review meetings, distributing pre-read materials and agendas ahead of time to facilitate effective discussions.
  • Variance explanations: Deliver clear and insightful explanations of variances against forecasts and prior year results, highlighting key risks and opportunities, and ensuring follow-up on agreed actions.
  • Collaboration with Global Shared Services: Foster robust communication with the Global Shared Services team, partnering closely to enhance process efficiency and ensure precision in transactional accounting.
Forecasting
  • Weekly sales reporting: Provide timely and meaningful weekly sales reports by engaging in Sales in Sales out (SISO) meetings, critically assessing sales and weeks of cover (WOC) assumptions, and pinpointing potential risks and opportunities.
  • Weeks of cover (WOC) analysis: Oversee WOC reporting, ensuring strong alignment with commercial teams, while analysing trends and monitoring retailer performance.
  • Budgeting and forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, scheduling all review meetings with clear agendas and allowing adequate review time before global deadlines.
  • Challenge budget submissions: Review and challenge budget and forecast submissions by verifying underlying assumptions, tracking growth and cost drivers, evaluating retailer productivity, and identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Coordination with commercial and supply chain: Coordinate with the commercial and supply chain teams to align financial budgeting and forecasting with regional demand plans, ensuring accurate and consistent information.
  • Forecast feedback loop: Maintain a continuous feedback process for regional forecasts, ensuring that effective mitigation plans are in place to secure key KPIs.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, promoting transparent communication to share insights and enable informed decision-making.
Business casing & analysis
  • Business cases: Support the preparation of business cases across new distribution, marketing and promotional investment, providing critical analysis and challenge.
  • Post-investment reviews: Conduct post-investment reviews of new distribution and promotional initiatives, extracting key insights to inform future strategies.
  • Marketing ROI evaluation: Evaluate marketing return on investment to strengthen commercial understanding of core business drivers and optimise expenditure.
  • Cost analysis: Routinely perform in-depth analyses of targeted P&L cost lines to confirm account integrity and maintain robust cost control.
Other
  • Team coaching and development: Promote a culture of continuous team coaching and professional development, empowering individuals to achieve their full potential and fostering a high-performing environment.
  • Process improvements: Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements across key workflows.
  • Financial controls: Ensure a sound financial control environment, embracing the Groups policies and procedures.
About you
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 2+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in managing commercial finance teams and business partnering in multi-country regions.
  • Experience in the premium retail sector and/or FMCG desirable.
  • Understanding of global company operations, processes and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles (UK GAAP / IFRS), financial modelling, and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Independent thinker and driven to achieve best results.
  • Ability to prioritise and provide follow up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in financial software and tools (e.g. ERP systems, advanced Excel).
  • Experience using Anaplan and Netsuite highly desirable.
