Our Health & Care sector is a critical part of our business and plays a major role in designing and delivering transformation for the NHS. We work with organisations across the UK health system - including national regulators, integrated care systems and providers, helping them solve their most critical challenges. This includes responding to disruptive trends; implementing innovative models of care; delivering transformation programmes; improving operational performance; and defining operating models and supporting organisational design.

Our Health & Care expertise spans the system from national strategy development to delivery of trust-wide improvements in provider settings. Our core areas of focus (listed below) are aligned to the major changes the NHS is seeking to deliver as part of its 10 Year Plan and are therefore growing already and expected to grow rapidly in the coming years:

• Health System Strategy and Design: Commissioning and system strategy and design, helping ICSS and national bodies redesign care pathways, allocate resources effectively, and drive system-wide transformation.
• Health Service Optimisation: Operational, performance and financial improvement across acute, community and primary care settings.
• Digital, Data and AI transformation: to support improved decision-making, productivity and performance improvement across care systems.

We have long-standing partnerships with many of the largest NHS organisations and work on projects large and small - from large system wide change to targeted improvement programmes. Together, we enable health and care organisations to maximise value, enhance system resilience, and achieve the best outcomes for patients and populations.

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our team, helping lead the delivery of our projects and driving continued growth of our sector. Our team is tight-knit and collaborative, and you will play an important role in running and growing the Health & Care sector at Moorhouse, as well as delivering our clients' most critical transformation efforts.

Through this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Deliver high-impact, meaningful change – take ownership of delivering innovative and strategically important programmes that directly improve patient outcomes, enhance operational performance, and create measurable impact across NHS organisations.

• Have deep exposure to the NHS and Health & Care system – work side‑by‑side with provider executives, operational leaders, and system partners to design and deliver real‑world improvements in patient flow, elective recovery, workforce efficiency and care coordination.
• Learn from a highly experienced team of consultants with deep expertise in healthcare and years of experience shaping, selling and delivering consulting services across the NHS.
• Break free from ‘cookie‑cutter’ programmes – apply your consulting toolkit to complex, system‑level challenges that go beyond traditional CIP/FIP projects, driving sustainable transformation rather than short‑term savings.
• Be visible in a growing practice – play an active role in expanding our Health & Care sector through business development, building your own network, and support bids for exciting new client work.
• Grow your expertise and profile – deepen your understanding of Health & Care transformation through formal training, thought leadership, and proposition development, while influencing how we shape our work with clients.

We are interested in candidates with experience across the following elements:

• At least 4 years' consulting experience in a healthcare setting (e.g. with NHS providers, regulators, systems etc). This could include some of the following:
  • Outstanding delivery/advisory and transformation capability, with experience independently leading workstreams or initiatives in large programmes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational excellence, provider transformation, and performance improvement within health and care settings.
  • Experience across areas such as programme management, change management, operating model and organisation design, process improvement, digital/AI/tech‑enabled transformation, strategy & insights and commissioning.
  • Extensive experience delivering consulting services within the NHS, including familiarity with the processes, data and systems used in NHS hospitals.
• At least 4 – 6 years' experience of working directly within, or with, the UK Health & Care system and subject matter knowledge, ideally including:
  • Strategy & system design – working with national bodies on policy implementation, strategy, and system design.
  • System working & integration – supporting Integrated Care Systems and partnerships; improving pathways across providers; developing population health approaches.
  • Provider transformation – operational efficiency, workforce optimisation, service redesign, patient flow, cost improvement programmes.
  • Digital and innovation – enabling adoption of digital solutions, AI, data and technology in provider and system settings.

• A strong desire to work with the NHS and a passion for Health & Care transformation, delivering change that improves outcomes and sustainability for patients and populations.
• A 'big picture business thinker' with a passion for solving complex organisational and system problems.
• Proven experience in delivering operational change within acute hospitals or NHS provider organisations, with a strong understanding of clinical operations, patient flow and performance improvement.
• Knowledge of NHS operational processes and common data sets (e.g. SUS, HED, RTT, A&E, theatre utilisation and workforce data etc), and familiarity with key NHS systems and tools used to manage performance and operational delivery.
• Strong interpersonal skills including building and nurturing strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and experience effectively managing and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
• A self‑starter with ability to work independently and identify, scope and lead key initiatives (for client delivery and for internal sector growth at Moorhouse).
• Commercial awareness and experience in business development e.g. building long‑lasting relationships, supporting development of impactful proposals, or identifying potential new work opportunities.

• A total cash package of up to £80,000 comprising of a base salary of £64,575 and a combination of personal and company bonuses that are paid every six months.
