A national transport organisation in Glasgow is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role involves leading the audit, ensuring statutory reporting accuracy, and improving financial controls within a supportive team. Ideal candidates will be qualified accountants with strong Excel skills and a background in audit or financial accounting. The role offers a competitive salary of £52,000 plus benefits, including free travel and a final salary pension scheme.

A large national transport organisation is looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.
This is a key post within the Financial Accounting team, offering the chance to own year-end, lead the audit, and ensure statutory reporting accuracy.
You'll work alongside the Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Controller, supported by two graduate apprentices. The team is collaborative, fast-moving and ideal for someone who enjoys variety and taking initiative.
Lead the external audit - plan, coordinate and deliver.
Provide technical accounting support across IFRS, tax, payroll and HMRC compliance.
Improve financial controls and reporting processes.
Adapt to ad-hoc work within a busy finance function.
Contribute to a positive, supportive team culture.
Qualified accountant (ICAS / ACCA / CIMA).
Background in audit or financial accounting, ideally with year-end experience.
Understanding of IFRS, VAT, tax and payroll, or ability to learn quickly.
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
Adaptable, proactive and confident communicator.
£52,000 per annum.
