About The Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our Passenger Revenue team at CrossCountry. In this role, you’ll be responsible for processing and reconciling shift sheets from Train Managers and Caterers, ensuring all cash taken reports are accurately reflected in Datasys. You’ll also work closely with Team Organisers to resolve queries and support a range of finance processes that help keep our operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile shifts to cash collected and reported by cash collection companies (Secplus).
  • Process Warrants, Permits, and other similar items.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including Surplus & Loss, Non-Issues, Cash Refunds, and Cancelled Transactions.
  • Monitor open shifts and investigate any variances.
  • Assist with location audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out periodic barcoding at period end.
  • Complete journals and reconciliations as part of the period-end process.
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager with other ad hoc duties as required.

We’re looking for someone who’s organised, accurate, and confident working with numbers. You’ll enjoy solving problems, collaborating with colleagues, and keeping processes running efficiently.

Essential
  • Minimum AAT Part Qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Basic Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Datasys experience (desirable but not essential)
