Job summary
A recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager in Bath to lead a multi-skilled team in delivering efficient and safe maintenance services. This role involves overseeing both in-house staff and contractors while implementing effective maintenance programmes. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in public sector maintenance operations, preferably with a mechanical background. Strong leadership and health & safety compliance are essential for this position.
Qualifications

- Mechanical background preferred, electrical considered.

Dawson Jones Recruitment is supporting a leading public sector organisation in the appointment of a Senior Maintenance Manager . This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a multi-skilled team, delivering a safe, efficient and customer-focused maintenance service across a diverse estate.
This hands-on leadership role covers planned and reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, and the management of both in-house staff and contractors across electrical, mechanical, and building trades.
- Leading the Estates & Facilities maintenance function
- Managing planned and reactive maintenance programmes
- Implementing robust Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and Health & Safety procedures
- Overseeing Building Management Systems (BMS), asset records, and CAFM system data
- Driving energy efficiency and carbon-reduction initiatives
- Contractor, budget, and project oversight
- 5 + years experience leading maintenance operations in a large estate or public-sector environment
- Mechanical background preferred (electrical considered) with relevant trade or engineering qualification (HNC / HND / apprenticeship)
