Job description
Overview

Launch your engineering career as a Mechatronics Apprentice with Amazon’s Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team. You’ll develop skills in electrical and mechanical maintenance while working on cutting‑edge automated equipment, including robotic arms, conveyor networks and sensor technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, test, fault‑find and perform ongoing planned maintenance of complex automated equipment.
  • Carry out proactive and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment effectiveness.
  • Execute reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
  • Make modifications and upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Uphold health and safety policies and practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and propose long‑term solutions.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, investigate issues and implement solutions quickly.
Training & Development

Your apprenticeship is a full‑time residential programme during the first 12 months, followed by day or block‑release study while you work at a Fulfilment Centre, Sortation Centre or Delivery Station. You’ll earn qualification through industry‑recognised study and gain experience on real engineering projects.

Qualifications
  • UK national, EU national with settled status, or non‑UK national with the right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs at grades 9‑4 (A‑C) in Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
  • Proof of all required qualifications must be provided by 17 July 2026.
  • Applicants should have no qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship.
Additional Information

You’ll work in a 24/7 operation with shift patterns that cover days, nights and weekends. The role offers clear avenues for progression to mechatronic maintenance technician, maintenance engineer, mechanical fitter or electrical engineer.
