Job summary

A leading public sector organization in Brighton is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager to lead a multi-skilled team in delivering a safe and efficient maintenance service. Dawson Jones Recruitment is supporting a leading public sector organisation in the appointment of a Senior Maintenance Manager . This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a multi-skilled team, delivering a safe, efficient and customer-focused maintenance service across a diverse estate.

About the Role

This hands-on leadership role covers planned and reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, and the management of both in-house staff and contractors across electrical, mechanical, and building trades.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the Estates & Facilities maintenance function
  • Managing planned and reactive maintenance programmes
  • Implementing robust Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and Health & Safety procedures
  • Overseeing Building Management Systems (BMS), asset records, and CAFM system data
  • Driving energy efficiency and carbon-reduction initiatives
  • Contractor, budget, and project oversight
Qualifications
  • 5 + years experience leading maintenance operations in a large estate or public-sector environment
  • Mechanical background preferred (electrical considered) with relevant trade or engineering qualification (HNC / HND / apprenticeship)
