Graduate Learning Support Assistant Roles – Full-Time, Term Time Only (Monday to Friday)

As aLearning Support Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (from low to high support), PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), and speech/language communication differences
• Help young people who may be at risk of exclusion, disengagement, or involvement with the youth justice system
• Use neurodiversity-informed approaches to reduce anxiety, build routines, and scaffold communication and emotional regulation
• Empower pupils to develop resilience, self-awareness, and healthy peer relationships
• Be a consistent, trusted adult in a trauma-informed educational setting

This role is ideal if you’re pursuing a career in:

• Youth Justice or Probation Services
• Behavioural or Educational Psychology
• Social Work or Family Support
• Prison, Court, or Community Rehabilitation Services

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Providing structured 1:1 and small group support to learners with SEN, SEMH, and autism spectrum conditions
• Delivering behavioural and sensory regulation strategies tailored to individual neurocognitive profiles
• Assisting with personalised learning plans that reflect emotional needs and academic goals
• Supporting pupils in developing executive function, social reasoning, and life skills
• Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor progress and refine interventions
• Participating in de-escalation and relational behaviour support (full training provided)

Who We’re Looking For:

• Graduates in Criminology, Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, or related fields
• Aspiring professionals in safeguarding, social justice, or youth rehabilitation
• Empathetic, non-judgemental communicators with a genuine interest in neurodiversity and inclusion
• Individuals open to learning about autistic identity, sensory integration, and non-verbal communication styles
• Previous experience in education, care, or youth services is welcome but not essential

You’ll Need:

• The ability to build rapport and trust quickly
• An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
