Job summary
A leading recruitment agency is seeking an ICT Teacher for a specialist SEN school in Andover. You will deliver engaging ICT lessons to students aged 11–19, focusing on practical skills and online safety. Required qualifications include QTS and experience teaching ICT. This specialist SEN school supports students aged 11–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of additional needs, including ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, and social communication challenges. The school focuses on helping students develop both academic and life skills within a nurturing, structured environment.
- Deliver creative and engaging ICT lessons across KS3–KS5, focusing on practical digital skills, online safety, and computer literacy.
- Differentiate lessons to meet individual needs and ensure accessibility for all learners.
- Help students develop confidence in using technology safely and effectively to support learning and communication.
- Integrate ICT into wider curriculum projects, promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and independence.
- Work closely with the wider education and therapy teams to provide holistic support for every student.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience teaching ICT or Computing (KS3–KS5 preferred).
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, autism and additional learning needs.
- Creative, patient, and adaptable in approach.
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
- Passionate about inspiring young people and helping them build real-world digital skills.
