Position: Senior Product Development Technologist

Based in Worksop with travel to St Albans

Do you offer:

• BSc Food Science/Technology or related degree, Intermediate Food Hygiene, HNC Food Science/Technology, BTEC Food Science
• 3+ years of development experience, with 2-5 years gained from within a technical discipline.

Able to manage projects independently, innovative, creative, flexible in all aspects of development, committed, organized, tenacious, with good time management and problem-solving skills.

Additional skills include coaching and training; previous supervisory or management experience would be valuable.

What you'll be doing:

• Delivering new and existing product development for the related product area.
• Leading pilot plant trials and factory trials with operations, process, and site technical teams.
• Liaising with all site functions to progress projects.
• Managing document control and processes related to projects.
• Working with marketing and consumers to develop ideas and shape projects.
• Monitoring current trends and consumer food behaviors.
• Collaborating with sensory and marketing teams to set benchmarks.
• Understanding ingredients related to specific products and working with suppliers.
• Maintaining contact with internal and external organizations to ensure issues are addressed appropriately.
• Linking with technical support functions across sites to ensure efficient delivery of programs.
• Deputising for the NPD/Development Manager as needed.
• Managing the daily work of technicians/technologists and supporting their skill development and appraisal.
• Potentially managing direct reports as part of the team.
