Job summary
A recruitment agency in finance is seeking an Assistant Accountant based South of Aberdeen City. This role offers an introduction to a busy finance environment, supporting core accounting activities like ledger accuracy, journal preparation, and KPIs. Ideal candidates are analytical and detail-focused with strong Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. The position also offers study support for professional accountancy qualifications.

Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate general ledger entries.
- Preparing journals, including prepayments and accruals.
- Completing and analyzing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting fixed asset management and capital project tracking.
- Preparing profit and loss reconciliations and assist with month-end adjustments.
- Reviewing costs against budgets and supporting variance reporting.
- Contributing to KPI reporting, year-end tasks, and budgeting.
- Assisting with audits and stock counts.
