Your future position

Kpler is looking for an experienced Analyst within our Market Data Operations team. The role involves ensuring high data quality in the collection, processing, and analysis of data related to Vegoil/Biofuels markets. You will follow important market events and track specific trends in these markets. Additionally, you will work on various projects to develop new features and improve Kpler data quality.

Your mission is to:

1. Operate as a subject matter expert on the global vegoils/biofuels markets, understanding the relationship between feedstocks, supply, demand, and trade flows, supporting the global team.
2. Perform daily checks and edits of data on Kpler platform to ensure reliability and accuracy of global seaborne flows, supply & demand.
3. Draft fast-response analysis to ad-hoc requests from clients (emails, chats, video calls, and in-person meetings) and assist the sales and customer success teams in meeting clients’ data needs, while optimizing client engagement by improving our internal systems.
4. Conduct research including identifying new data sources and performing statistical analysis.
5. Prepare written correspondence and engage directly with clients to present analysis.
6. Monitor market news and developments to extract meaningful patterns, detect new trends, and support product managers by providing evidence to improve business rules and algorithms.
7. Help drive continuous improvements to the team’s data quality procedures and ensure a consistent approach to measuring, monitoring, and reporting data quality.

It will be a match if you are or have:

1. 3-5 years' experience in commodity markets, with experience in data analytics.
2. Subject matter expertise in at least one vegoils or biofuels market.
3. Experience working with large, disparate, and/or unstructured data sets (advanced Excel, BI tools, SQL). Knowledge of Python is a plus.
4. Excellent analytical skills, comfortable working with databases, capable of highlighting trends and supporting decisions with complex data.
5. Persistent, curious about biofuels market fundamentals and technical details.
6. Strong communication skills, including listening, writing, and verbal abilities.
7. Ability to work well in a global team, focusing on collaboration and adaptability.
8. Effective at managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
