The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to join our AI and Computer Vision team, which is responsible for developing cutting-edge solutions in document analysis, biometric verification, and Presentation Attack Detection (PAD). You will be working hands-on with computer vision and AI technologies to build robust, scalable, and secure solutions that power the future of digital identity verification.

Your work will include developing and optimizing algorithms for document image analysis (e.g., OCR, document classification), facial recognition, liveness detection, and anti-spoofing techniques. You will work with AI/ML frameworks and cloud services to create high-performance models and services. The ideal candidate has strong experience in computer vision, machine learning, and cloud infrastructure.

You will also contribute to the full development lifecycle, from designing and training machine learning models to deploying and monitoring services in cloud environments, ensuring our solutions are secure, efficient, and scalable.

The Team:
The AI and Computer Vision team is at the forefront of innovation at Signicat. We focus on AI-driven developments for advanced identity verification systems used across Europe. The team is centrally located in our Madrid office enabling close collaboration. Our cross-functional team works closely with other teams within Signicat to integrate AI solutions into core products, including document verification and biometric authentication services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement computer vision algorithms for document analysis, OCR, biometric verification, and PAD.
• Train and optimize machine learning models using AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, Openvino, TensorRT).
• Work closely with the cloud engineering team to deploy scalable, cloud-native AI solutions on GCP / AWS.
• Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques in facial recognition, liveness detection, and anti-spoofing (PAD).
• Collaborate in cross-team projects, contributing to architectural decisions and product innovation.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs to integrate AI-driven solutions into our core products.
• Ensure the security, robustness, and compliance with GDPR of the solutions, staying up-to-date with the latest standards and best practices.
• Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from prototyping and testing to deployment and monitoring in production environments.

Desired Experience:

• Hands-on experience in computer vision and AI/ML development for real-world applications (biometrics, document analysis).
• Strong proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) for deploying and scaling AI/ML models.
• Familiarity with security best practices, particularly in biometric systems and

• Experience in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of PAD technologies and their practical implementation.
• Strong understanding of Document tampering detection technologies and their implementation.
