Purpose of Role
The IT Manager (ITM) is a creative and dynamic leader responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision for all technology areas at Colégio Integrado Monte Maior, located in the Loures region of Lisbon, Portugal. He/She will facilitate the integration of digital tools and best practices into curriculum and administrative systems. As both a big picture thinker and hands-on implementer, the ITM engages with administrators, educators, technology vendors, parents, and students to promote responsible and creative use of technology. ISP School Head of HR Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the use of technology in both academic and infrastructural systems.
- Support the execution of the school's technology strategic plan.
- Stay informed about current research and forecasts related to effective technology use in education.
- Provide current, cutting-edge information to support decision-making on educational and administrative technology matters.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to oversee professional development for staff on technology integration, including direct training when necessary.
- Ensure all educators and students have access to appropriate technological tools to perform their tasks efficiently.
- Promote safe and responsible use of network and technology resources.
- Oversee all administrative aspects of the school's technology programs, including infrastructure, implementation, and support for staff and educators.
- Manage setup and installation of new equipment for staff and students.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance, determining when external help is needed.
- Allocate and manage resources effectively to support strategic priorities.
- Lead procurement of new technology and equipment, consulting with stakeholders for evaluation and purchase decisions.
- Understand industry standards, regulations, and guidelines related to software purchase and use, including copyright laws and licensing.
- Develop and monitor the annual technology budget in collaboration with school and regional stakeholders.
- Maintain records and inventory of equipment and resources.
- Utilize the professional technology help desk system provided by ISP Group.
- Represent the school professionally in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students, resolving conflicts appropriately.
- Comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations at district, state, and federal levels.
- Respond to emergency situations outside of standard hours as needed.
- Contribute to other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Hands-on experience with wired and wireless infrastructure (HP Aruba, Cisco Meraki preferred).
- Experience with Windows Server OS and Domain Controllers.
- Knowledge of firewall and content filtering security practices.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience managing IP PABX systems.
- Experience managing virtual environments and backups (VMware preferred, HyperV acceptable).
- Experience managing educational platforms like O365, Google GSuite, and Apple for Education.
- Experience with backup management.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English (first language or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar role and 5 years in technology overall.
- B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer/Technology field.

Working relationships include teachers, staff, students, parents, and other technology leads in the Iberia region.
This position is based in Loures at Colégio Integrado Monte Maior.
