Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Sustainability and Cost Engineer to join our growing team in Mülheim-Kärlich, Germany.

As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in designing and enhancing the sustainability aspects of sensor-based sorting machines, considering the entire life cycle from production to end-of-life.

This position will initially focus on a new generation of recycling products, with later responsibilities extending to optimizing sustainability and cost aspects across our entire product portfolio.

Your tasks:

  • Analyze sustainability and cost aspects of new and existing solutions.
  • Collect and collate qualitative and quantitative data to effectively communicate and support sustainable engineering designs.
  • Compare different scenarios to identify the most sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
  • Identify feasible sustainable design concepts.
  • Support Product Management with data and compelling arguments.
  • Lead technical project management activities.
  • Organize, execute, and document tests.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of low-carbon building solutions, with experience in this field.
  • Proficiency in mapping, thermal and energy modeling, and life cycle assessment tools.
  • Solid technical engineering knowledge (Mechanical & Electrical).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Proficiency in 3D mechanical design is a plus.
  • Strong product design and assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.
  • Good understanding of the circular economy's impact on sustainable engineering.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel globally.
