THE TEAM

The mission of the Technical Development Department is to deliver fit and construction that fulfills the creative design vision.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Aritzia is growing and our Technical Development team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for ensuring our product reflects world‑class fit and construction. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the Technical Development strategy, and creating various structures and processes to help develop product that delivers on our Everyday Luxury promise and creative vision. THE ROLE
  • Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day‑to‑day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience.
  • Determine the approach for developing product that fulfills the design vision
  • Ensure that our product delivers a consistent and superior fit
  • Ensure that our product executes with best‑in‑class construction
  • Ensure fit samples best align with the creative design vision while addressing any limitations
  • Bring life to our product samples to ensure wearable, functional and flattering fits
  • Effectively manage and optimize the day‑to‑day operations of technical development
  • Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day‑to‑day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience
THE QUALIFICATIONS

The (Sr.) Director, Technical Development, has:

  • Proven and best‑in‑class skills, applicable certifications, education and/or experience in:
    • Knowledge of 2D patternmaking and translation into physical garments
    • Sample measurement, construction, and execution evaluation
    • Live model and dressform garment fitting assessment and corrections
    • Garment fit and construction communication using sketches, imagery, and technical language
    • PLM system and patternmaking software experience
  • A commitment to learn, apply, champion and enrich Aritzia's Values and Business and People Leadership principles
  • The skills to collaborate strategically with cross‑functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
  • The ability to set clear objectives and design a strategy that inspires the team
  • A dedication to quality and investing in results and new business opportunities that add value
THE COMPENSATION

The typical hiring range for this position is $150,000- $250,000 per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Additionally, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
