Job Title: Avionics Technician

Job Description

Join our team as an Avionics Technician, working on the avionics components of Twin Otter aircraft. You will be responsible for installing, wiring, crimping, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting avionics equipment. While primarily focused on hands-on work within the aircraft, you may also be involved in bench work as needed. Specific training on the aircraft will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Install avionics parts into the aircraft, ensuring all components are correctly wired and securely fitted.
• Troubleshoot and test avionics systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Crimp, terminate, and splice wires as necessary.
• Solder components and read blueprints to accurately assemble parts.
• Work within one of three primary cells: Fuselage, Panel, or Wings.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in avionics systems and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in assembly, wire crimping, terminating, and splicing.
• Ability to solder and interpret blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Garmin systems.
• Possession of an avionics license.

Work Environment

Located in NE Calgary, the facility is part of a utility aircraft manufacturer with five buildings around the airport. You will work in an AMO facility where final modifications take place, as part of a consistent team of four, led by a team lead. Tools are provided on-site. The primary shift is Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with the possibility of a 2:30 PM to 11 PM shift starting in mid-October. Flexibility is required, and there is potential for weekend work. Dress code is comfortable for working around aircraft.
