Teacher Librarian: Inspire Reading & Research
Job summary
An independent educational institution in Vancouver is looking for a Teacher Librarian who will help support dyslexic students in their learning journey. The successful candidate will manage library resources, design engaging research and writing lessons, and participate in co-curricular activities while being part of a dedicated team. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, a commitment to student success, and relevant educational qualifications. Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a librarian/teacher preferred.
- Experience working with students who have learning differences is preferred.
- Independent school experience and coaching/extracurricular experience are assets.
Responsibilities
- Manage library organization, filing, and borrowing.
- Curate and purchase library materials supporting core mission.
- Design and implement lessons on research and writing skills.
- Participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Supervise study hall centered in the library.
- Provide Orton-Gillingham tutoring for students.
