Associate Attorney, Civil Litigation. Location: Hybrid/Remote in California.
This role demands strong analytic skills, proactive legal strategy development, effective client communication, and the stamina to perform thoroughly and timely a variety of case management tasks.

Responsibilities
- Analyze legal and factual issues, conduct thorough legal analysis and research, and independently develop and present well‑founded defense strategies on behalf of clients.
- Prepare or draft pleadings, discovery requests, depositions, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies.
- Conduct depositions of various parties as required by each case.
- Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice, and other services to clients and claims on legal and factual issues.
- Correspond and coordinate regularly with clients’ adjusters and representatives regarding the status of the case.
- Liaise professionally with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co‑counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures.
- Responsible for the prompt, efficient, and effective disposition of assigned cases. Make court appearances as required.
- Assist in preparing and presenting witnesses and evidence at trials, hearings, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolutions.
- Accurately log and record billable hours and tasks in compliance with firm and client billing guidelines.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an excellent, ABA‑approved law school.
- 0‑5 years of civil or insurance defense litigation experience.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar and/or Nevada State Bar.
- Exceptional legal writing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities with acute attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced legal environment, managing a caseload with varying deadlines and priorities effectively.
- Must be able to appear in court and attend court hearings either in person and virtually.
- Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications and adeptness with computers, and other legal technology or software.
- Responsive and punctual in all communications.
- Mobile and available travel between offices, courtrooms, client meetings, and other legal settings.
- Must be able to read and review high volume of documents and records and type lengthy documents.
- Demonstrated capability to manage stress and handle high‑pressure situations typical of a demanding legal practice.
Compensation
DOE, Range: $125,000 - $180,000, plus benefits.
Location: Remote in California, with San Diego, Long Beach, Corona, San Francisco, Los Gatos, and Santa Ana Offices.
