About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The work schedule for this role will be seven days on, seven days off.

As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site. BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a relocation allowance.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Performing preventative maintenance inspections on belt conveyors, crushers, screens and pumps
  • Troubleshooting and repairing unplanned failures on mechanical equipment
  • Performing daily lubrication routes and supporting lubrication best practices
  • Follow site safety procedures and standards
  • Coach and support apprentices and new to industry employees
  • Complete work orders with appropriate documentation to support work management process
  • Perform field leadership activities as directed
  • Support BOS principles including 5S and identifying areas of improvement
About You
  • Journeyperson certificate in a Mechanical trade such as Millwright or Pipefitter
  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors
  • Potash experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with work management is an asset
