Job summary
A community-based health organization in Nova Scotia is looking for a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to provide trauma-informed care and conduct medical-forensic examinations. This role involves responding to emergencies, documenting cases, and working collaboratively with healthcare teams. Candidates must be licensed in Nova Scotia and have strong communication skills. Flexible work hours are required for on-call duties.
Qualifications
- Must complete NS community-based SANE training upon hire and full SANE certification at a later date.
- Three years of experience in community, women's health, or acute care preferred.
- Experience in forensic or emergency nursing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Function as part of the on-call SANE response team and respond to calls within 1.5 hours.
- Conduct medical-forensic exams and collect evidence.
- Document all interactions with the victim according to regulatory requirements.
