Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to provide trauma-informed medical and forensic care for victims of sexual assault in Truro, Canada. This role requires responding to emergency calls, conducting exams, and working as part of an on-call team. The ideal candidate will be a licensed RN or NP in Nova Scotia, with strong communication skills and prior experience in nursing or trauma-informed care. Qualifications

  • Must maintain professional licensure and CPR certification.
  • Experience in forensic or emergency nursing is beneficial.
  • Previous SANE experience is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Function as part of the on-call SANE response team.
  • Respond to calls at designated site within 1.5 hours.
  • Conduct medical-forensic exams including proper evidence collection.
