Your Opportunity:

Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre serves the community of Central Alberta. Our Operating Room consists of 9 OR theatres that specialize in General Surgery, Orthopedic - Trauma and Total Joints, Plastics, Gynecology, ENT, and Urology. Our multidisciplinary team includes Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Perioperative Registered Nurses, ORTs, Respiratory Therapists II, and support staff.

As an OR Technician (ORT) in the operating room, you will be responsible for providing nursing care in the intraoperative phase. You will perform both the scrub and circulating roles. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential; problem-solving skills, critical thinking, time management, and adaptability are imperative. Leadership and conflict resolution skills are also crucial for this role.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional healthcare team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Your practice will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Additional Qualifications:
- Perioperative training is required.
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
