QUALIFICATIONS

Silgan Plastics is seeking a Machine Operator for our Montreal-based facility. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the operation and oversight of plastic manufacturing equipment in a safe manner, while ensuring efficient and high-quality production. This hands-on position demands meticulous attention to detail, a collaborative spirit, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and monitor plastic manufacturing machinery to achieve production targets.
• Conduct quality inspections to verify that products meet established specifications.
• Configure, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment as necessary.
• Accurately complete production documentation and reports.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or hazardous conditions to the supervisor
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or machine operation (plastics industry experience is an asset).
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, repetitive environment.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended durations.
• Basic mathematical and measurement competencies.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong safety orientation.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
