Job description

Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 4 days on, 3 days off rotation. A 7 days on, 7 days off site rotation may be considered where exceptional expertise aligns with operational requirements.

Foran Mining is a modern mining development and exploration company advancing Canada's only greenfield copper project currently under construction: the McIlvenna Bay deposit in Saskatchewan. With commercial production expected in mid-2026, this world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy. At Foran, we are committed to sustainable development, environmental protection, and building strong communities. We believe in empowering our people, fostering a culture of growth, and creating opportunities for meaningful careers as we build the mines of the future.

The Manager of Health & Safety will lead a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and direct all aspects of safety, health, industrial hygiene, employee training, and security for both Operations and Exploration activities. This role involves the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure a safe and secure working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive safety initiatives, promote a culture of health and well-being, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance, leadership and coaching to a team of professionals in Safety, Health, Training, and Security.
  • Support risk identification and mitigation in health, and safety management.
  • Manage technology solutions related to the Safety, Health, Training, and Security portfolio.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits and hazard analysis to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, implementation of corrective actions and training, ensuring a robust adherence to the methodology and appropriate outcomes.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and active participation in field safety initiatives.
  • Manage physical security measures, including site access control, surveillance, and emergency preparedness plans.
  • Oversee site wide emergency preparedness activities, including the development and implementation of policies, coordination of mock drills, and delivery of training programs to ensure readiness for various emergency scenarios.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Report safety performance metrics, including leading indicators to senior leadership, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Advise senior management on safety and security-related matters, recommending improvements to operational safety and health standards.
  • Regularly review and update policies, programs and protocols to align with evolving regulations, industry trends, and organizational needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, regulatory bodies, and safety authorities to ensure alignment with safety standards.
  • Ensure safety-related equipment and resources are available, maintained, and compliant with regulations.
  • Foster a safe working environment for personnel, contractors, and visitors by promoting adherence to safety protocols.
  • Champion health and wellness initiatives to support employee and contractor well-being on-site.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong background in field safety management within the mining sector
  • Thorough relevant understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Experience in training development
  • Proactive approach to risk management and security operations.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in the mining industry
  • A minimum of 5 years direct Health and Safety leadership experience
  • Experience working in an underground environment would be an asset
  • University or College degree in health and safety considered an asset
  • Possess strong analytical and organizational skills to interpret, present, communicate and manage decision making
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Experience within the mining and processing operations
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Takes initiative and is able to self-direct to accomplish goals with minimum supervision
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive starting salary range based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term and long term incentive awards at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.

  • Employer paid health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life and disability insurance
  • RSP with company match
  • Camp-based position with travel support

Foran is committed to building a skilled and diverse workforce as we move into our next phase of growth. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to self-declare when submitting applications and resumes. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, you must be legally able to work in Canada.

The McIlvenna Bay Project site is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position and the remote work environment, candidates must successfully complete a pre‑employment medical assessment, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as a condition of employment.

Deadline for applications to be submitted is: December 16, 2025
