    • Participate in the planning and execution of corporate HSE assurance programs, OEMS (Operations Excellence Management System) assessments, and management reviews
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
    • Monitor and evaluate adherence to Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, industry standards, and company policies
    • Assist in preparing submissions and documentation for regulatory audits and certifications
  • Audits & Inspections:
    • Conduct internal audits and safety inspections across various departments, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
  • Risk Management:

    • Provide coaching and technical support to site-level HSE teams to ensure alignment with corporate expectations
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Monitor regulatory changes and industry best practices to recommend updates to existing systems or practices
  • Incident Investigation Support:
    • Assist in incident investigations, facilitate root cause analyses, and ensure effective corrective actions are developed and implemented
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies and internal teams to foster a safety-focused culture
    • Track and report HSE metrics and KPIs to internal stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and relevance for performance monitoring

What you will bring to MEG:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a health & safety role, preferably in the oil and gas or energy sector
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS regulations and industry standards (e.g., CSA Z1000, ISO 45001)
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical mindset and experience with HSE data management systems
  • Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings clearly
  • Committed mindset towards achieving a worksite where serious incidents are eliminated by caring for ourselves and all others above all else
  • Collaborative workstyle that recognizes team achievement and collective contribution ahead of individual reward
  • Knowledge of how management systems work, and how loss-prevention systems like OEMS function effectively
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles to achieve solutions
