A leading commercial real estate services firm in Toronto is seeking a skilled Manager, Environmental Risk. This role involves developing and managing health and safety programs, overseeing training, and ensuring compliance with regulations. As Manager, Environmental Risk within our REMS team, you’ll play a pivotal role in the development, implementation and management of corporate Environmental and Health and Safety programs to support the REMS Canada environmental risk management platform. This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise to help us lead our industry into the future!
Develop, implement, and manage programs that address property-level environmental and health & safety risks.
Align policies and procedures with corporate strategy, goals, and Canadian regulatory requirements.
Identify and mitigate environmental and safety risks through robust frameworks.
Lead incident response and investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Oversee EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
Maintain and analyze historical environmental assessments and remediation reports.
Monitor compliance with legislative requirements, including inspections and government reporting.
Deliver client presentations and provide training to promote awareness of environmental and safety issues.
Support business lines on projects related to asset, development, and investment management.
Act as a technical resource and subject matter expert on environmental initiatives and compliance.
Maintain corporate business continuity plans and incident response strategies.
Support the development of internal and client risk reporting platforms.
5–7 years of experience in environmental and health & safety risk management, with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of environmental science/engineering principles and corporate environmental programs.
Excellent presentation and influencing skills to drive consensus and engagement.
Ability to provide technical guidance on environmental compliance and initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
A valid Ontario driver’s license.
