A leading healthcare organization in Alberta is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their multidisciplinary team. The LPN will collaborate in delivering comprehensive care and support to patients and their families, ensuring quality care in accordance with established standards. Candidates must be a graduate of a Practical Nursing program, hold active registration with the CLPNA, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. This role also requires medication administration and IV certification. The position is part-time at St. Mary's Hospital and offers a competitive salary range.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.
Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Medication Administration required. Intravenous certification required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills required. Excellent assessment and organizational skills required.
Two years of maternal/newborn experience preferred. One year of Medicine experience preferred. Certificate in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
