Bilingual Lead Negotiator, Collective Bargaining
Job summary
A federal government consultancy is seeking a Bilingual Lead Negotiator for Collective Bargaining to support their negotiation efforts. This 1-year remote contract requires expertise in collective bargaining, with a strong focus on federal experience and dispute resolution processes. The ideal candidate will conduct negotiations, prepare proposals, and lead preparatory meetings, ensuring effective strategies and outcomes. This role involves some travel to Calgary as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in multiple rounds of collective bargaining as chief employer negotiator.
- At least one round of experience in federal public service collective bargaining.
- Expertise in dispute resolution processes and strike action management.

- Lead and conduct negotiations, preparing effective contract language.
Skills
Our federal government client is seeking the services of a Bilingual Lead Negotiator, Collective Bargaining to join their team. This is a 1-year remote contract with 2 optional periods. Travel to Calgary will be required on an as-needed basis.
- Act as a resource and provide advice on the negotiation strategy.
- Conduct preparatory meetings for collective bargaining.
- Determine and coordinate the gathering and preparation of information required for negotiations.
- Prepare draft proposals and final proposals.
- Lead and conduct negotiations, including preparing and recommending bargaining positions, responses and strategies, and drafting effective contract language.
- Participate in a debriefing session with management on completed negotiations.
- Experience acting as a chief employer negotiator in several rounds of collective bargaining.
- At least one round of collective bargaining experience in the federal public service.
- Expertise in all aspects of collective bargaining, including dispute resolution processes and/or dealing with strike action.
- Must have experience acting as principal employer representative in conciliation, mediation, and/or arbitration proceedings.
- Reliability clearance.
