Our federal government client is seeking the services of a Bilingual Lead Negotiator, Collective Bargaining to join their team. This is a 1-year remote contract with 2 optional periods. Travel to Calgary will be required on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a resource and provide advice on the negotiation strategy.
  • Conduct preparatory meetings for collective bargaining.
  • Determine and coordinate the gathering and preparation of information required for negotiations.
  • Prepare draft proposals and final proposals.
  • Lead and conduct negotiations, including preparing and recommending bargaining positions, responses and strategies, and drafting effective contract language.
  • Participate in a debriefing session with management on completed negotiations.
Qualifications
  • Experience acting as a chief employer negotiator in several rounds of collective bargaining.
  • At least one round of collective bargaining experience in the federal public service.
  • Expertise in all aspects of collective bargaining, including dispute resolution processes and/or dealing with strike action.
  • Must have experience acting as principal employer representative in conciliation, mediation, and/or arbitration proceedings.
  • Reliability clearance.
