Job description
Description & Requirements

Who we are
lululemon is a yoga‑inspired technical apparel company up to big things. The practice and philosophy of yoga informs our overall purpose to elevate the world through the power of practice. We are proud to be a growing global company with locations all around the world, from Vancouver to Shanghai, and places in between. We owe our success to our innovative product, our emphasis on our stores, our commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we get to make in every community we are in.

About this team:

We’re seeking a Senior Designer to support the Senior Design Director in driving impactful, human‑centred design across our Sports Bra, Underwear & Bodywear categories‑spaces where technical performance, elevated craft, and intimate connection to the body come together. In this role, you’ll translate guest insight, global trends, and material innovation into products that elevate the guest experience through comfort, movement, and modern style. You’ll explore new raw materials, design transformative solutions, and create silhouettes that honour both fit and function while delivering on commercial and aesthetic goals.

As a senior member of our world‑class design team, you’ll play a key role in cultivating the culture of the team. You’ll mentor and guide Junior Designers—supporting their growth in design thinking, execution, process, and aesthetic refinement—while fostering a collaborative, curious, and creatively brave environment. You bring aesthetic intelligence, innovative thinking, and the ability to translate complex insights into iconic next‑to‑skin product.

Our team champions a culture where designers are encouraged to grow, push boundaries, and unlock their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment.

If you’re ready to shape the future of intimate performance and support a category with enormous opportunity, we’d love to connect.

A Day in the Life

As a Senior Intimates Designer, you bring world‑class close to body product to life, creating products that deliver comfort, support, and confidence. In partnership with your Design Director and cross‑functional teams, you lead the design process from concept through production, blending technical expertise with a refined eye for detail. You are a trusted mentor, a creative problem‑solver, and a collaborator who elevates product quality while pushing innovation and performance in every garment.

Your work inspires confidence and movement for a diverse range of guests, while reflecting lululemon’s unique brand aesthetic and commitment to thoughtful, human‑centred design.

What You Do
  • Lead the design of bras, briefs, shapewear, and next‑to‑skin products, combining expertise in fit, support, construction, and stretch materials.
  • Translate guest insights, trend intelligence, and cultural inspiration into cohesive, innovative product collections.
  • Address complex design challenges with clarity, balancing comfort, performance, manufacturability, sustainability, and aesthetic excellence.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, providing feedback and fostering a high‑performing, collaborative design culture.
  • Participate in fittings and prototype development, creating technical construction tech packs, working closely with technical design and sample teams to ensure superior fit and function.
  • Collaborate across product development, sourcing, merchandising, and operations to ensure seamless execution from concept to production.
  • Stay connected with fabric mills, trim suppliers, and innovation partners to drive material and technical advancements in Intimates.
  • Represent the design perspective in cross‑functional strategy meetings, influencing product direction and long‑term category growth.
You Bring
  • Advanced expertise in tight to body/bodywear design, with deep knowledge of fit, support, stretch, shaping, and next‑to‑skin garment construction.
  • Strong conceptual thinking, able to turn trends, cultural insight, and guest needs into meaningful, guest‑centred product direction.
  • Proven experience leading design from concept through production, making confident decisions on silhouette, materials, and technical execution.
  • Ease working in a fast‑paced, iterative design environment, taking feedback with openness and elevating concepts through collaboration and refinement.
  • Ability to solve complex design challenges while balancing innovation, support, cost, manufacturability, and sustainability.
  • A collaborative, influential presence capable of aligning cross‑functional partners around your design vision.
  • Experience mentoring and elevating junior designers, fostering creativity, rigor, and brand alignment.
  • Commitment to inclusive and human‑centred design, ensuring Intimates products are comfortable, supportive, and empowering for a broad range of guests.
  • Develop innovative intimate‑apparel concepts that focus on comfort engineering, movement, support, and aesthetic appeal for a wide range of bodies.
  • Build 3D mock‑ups and in‑house prototypes to refine close‑to‑body fit and silhouette early in the design process.
  • Select fabrics, trims, and performance materials that deliver softness, durability, moisture management, and minimal distraction.
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Illustrator for technical sketching and Photoshop/InDesign for visual storytelling.
  • A refined eye for proportion, construction detail, material tactility, and modern femininity that aligns with lululemon’s brand.
  • Curiosity, innovation, and a continuous learning mindset, keeping up to date on new materials, technologies, and design approaches.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience with hands‑on work in Intimates, or close‑to‑body product, with a strong portfolio showing technical expertise and creative vision.
  • Demonstrated experience leading design from concept to production in a complex, multi‑style category.
  • Deep knowledge of materials, stretch fabrics, trims, hardware, underwire, and garment construction.
  • Strong technical understanding of patterns, fittings, grading, and support engineering.
  • Exceptional visual and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience with sustainable design practices and inclusive sizing considerations is a plus.
  • Research global cultural and aesthetic trends, as well as emerging needs in intimates.

  • Passionate about wellness, movement, and mindful living, aligned with Lululemon values.
  • Agile, adaptable, and thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
  • Willingness to relocate to Vancouver. lululemon provides relocation support for the right candidate.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Join a team that values community, creativity, growth, and wellbeing.
