AT NDI, THE WORK YOU DO HERE MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

Every day, we help shape the future of healthcare. We design and build 3D tracking systems that equip medical devices with advanced spatial navigation technology, delivering greater accuracy, performance, and confidence in procedures where precision is critical. Since 1981, we’ve partnered with leading OEMs and research institutes to push the boundaries of surgical navigation. Our optical and electromagnetic technologies are trusted in procedures ranging from orthopaedics and spine surgery to cardiac interventions and radiation therapy.

Whether you're designing systems, supporting customers, or enabling the teams behind them, your work matters. It brings clarity to healthcare and helps improve outcomes for patients around the world.

THE IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing, the Operations Project Manager supports a variety of departmental objectives as defined by the Manager, Strategic Sourcing. This role requires strong collaboration and clear communication across departments. Success is measured by the effective introduction of product and process changes, ensuring operational readiness and alignment.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:
  • Serve as the primary Manufacturing Operations point of contact for all New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring operational readiness and seamless product launches.
  • Lead operations deliverables within the phase-gate development process, aligning cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.
  • Coordinate prototype material requirements and support production process development, ensuring timely availability and manufacturability of new designs.
  • Prepare supply chain and production teams for new product ramp-up, through capacity planning, resource allocation, and training.
  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) impacting production, ensuring effective implementation with minimal disruption.
  • Oversee material and process ramp-down for End-of-Life (EOL) products, including inventory disposition and resource reallocation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality Assurance, Operations, Product Management, and Sales to prioritize and implement new production or customer requirements.
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain process optimization to maintain compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks related to material availability, capacity, and process readiness during NPI and EOL transitions.
  • Conduct cost analysis and support cost-optimization initiatives for new product introductions and lifecycle management.
  • Engage with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of prototype and production materials, resolving supply chain constraints.
  • Oversee process validation and documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ) to ensure regulatory and quality compliance (non-medical products).
  • Drive change management and training initiatives to support ECO implementation and new process adoption across production teams.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to streamline manufacturing processes, reduce lead times, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Track and report key performance metrics related to NPI readiness, production yield, and ramp timelines to leadership.
  • Provide customer-facing support for audits and inquiries related to manufacturing readiness and quality compliance.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Operations, NPI and /or Supply Chain experience, leveraging hands‑on expertise to drive operational readiness, enhance cross‑functional alignment, and ensure successful product launches.
  • Post‑secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 electronics manufacturing environment or ISO 13485 environment.
ADDITIONAL STRENGTHS:
  • Highly organized with strong follow‑through on tasks and commitments.
  • Strong communicator who builds productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to present information to peers and leadership in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail and accuracy; produces reliable, trusted work.
  • Possesses analytical skills that challenge the status quo and drive meaningful improvements.
THE BENEFITS OF JOINING OUR TEAM
  • Competitive pay with a 4% RRSP match to help you plan for the future.
  • A comprehensive benefits package that supports your health and well‑being.
  • Company‑wide bonus program and regular salary reviews.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan offering discounted company shares to help you invest in and benefit from our growth.
  • A 37.5‑hour work week with a hybrid work model available where responsibilities allow.
  • Receive 15 vacation days starting on day one, plus a paid holiday shutdown in December to recharge before the New Year!
  • A calendar full of employee social events and engagement activities to keep us connected.
  • Professional and personal development support designed to foster your continuous growth and career advancement.
  • Work where your contributions are valued — as a multi‑year winner of Waterloo Region’s Top Employers and the 2025 Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year, we’re recognized for putting people first and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Part of a growing global company with offices in Waterloo, Vermont, Germany, and Hong Kong.
  • Conveniently located near GRT and ION transit stops, with free on‑site parking available.

If you’re looking to join a collaborative and curious team—guided by integrity, bold thinking, and a commitment to doing things right—this could be the team for you.
