Job Summary

The IT SOX Compliance Specialist is responsible for leading and executing SOX compliance activities across IT systems and processes. This role ensures that all audit-related tasks are completed in accordance with regulatory standards and internal procedures, with a focus on risk mitigation, control effectiveness, and audit readiness.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Enforce the audit calendar in performing SOX compliance tasks, ensuring activities are conducted in accordance with detailed procedures.
  • Monitor changes to SOX objects such as custom reports, business processes, and integrations to evaluate, document, and strengthen compliance with SOX change controls.
  • Support Cyber GRC and audit partners with IT-related requests, evidence collection, and remediation tracking.
  • Monitor and validate the completeness and accuracy of SOX system change management populations, ensuring all changes are in accordance with established controls.
  • Review changes to membership of critical security groups to ensure and document compliance with SOX controls.
  • Perform and document user access reviews (UAR) for delivery to auditors for SOX testing.
  • Analyze and interpret technical audit logs to identify anomalies and compliance risks.
  • Perform segregation of duties (SOD) analysis and privileged access monitoring across key systems and security groups.
  • Review custom report definitions and business processes to ensure they meet control objectives and audit standards.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in IT audit or compliance, preferably within ERP finance systems and data analytics.
  • Strong understanding of SOX requirements, IT general controls (ITGCs), and risk management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive in identifying process gaps and implementing remediation strategies.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools, security architecture, and business process frameworks.
