Reporting to the Senior Manager IT Strategy and Architecture, the Business Relationship Manager (BRM) establishes and maintains relationships between IT and the business, and enables the information technology solutions that meet the business needs by bridging the gap between business partners and technology solution providers. The primary focus of this position is on Finance and HR applications portfolio. The position also leads a team of specialists who provide IT services and leads discussions about business capability and technology for their respective client departments. Other responsibilities include researching, reviewing, and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements, developing strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes, and preparing project analysis and assisting the business with submitted project prioritization. In this role you will find yourself providing direction and guidance to staff members, monitoring expenditures and resources utilization, and maintaining up-to-date awareness of industry and technology trends to make recommendations for the implementation of new/upgraded systems and technologies. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business, computer engineering or a related discipline and 8 years of related experience in business analysis, project management and supervision, or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience plus required technical skills. The role requires knowledge of project management techniques; business requirement gathering skills, procurement processes and administrative functions, software implementation, business analysis, agile and waterfall methodologies. Sound technical knowledge of administrative principles and practices, and applicable divisional policies and procedures is required.
Skill in use of various software applications including MS Office, MS Project and Visio, relevant departmental applications (e.g. SAP, or similar ERP, SuccessFactors, Oracle Taleo, or similar HR systems) and online project management tools is required. Application domain knowledge is an asset.
