Overview

Parks Canada - Miette Hot Springs, Jasper National Park of Canada (Alberta)

Position: Visitor Services Attendant, GS-MPS-04 – Anticipatory, Summer 2026. Salary: $27.47 to $29.85 per hour (salary under review). Job types: Part-time, Casual, Full-time. Location: Jasper, AB.

Responsibilities
  • Actively greet guests and assist in the day-to-day cleaning and minor maintenance of the facilities.
  • Contribute to providing a safe aquatic environment and a quality visitor experience for guests of the Park.
Work Environment and Schedule

Parks Canada is a federal government agency. Miette Hot Springs offers a fast-paced, challenging and engaging work environment. Shifts may require overtime, weekends, and statutory holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary school diploma or Public Service Commission approved alternative; degree equivalency.
  • Occupational Certification: Current Standard (Intermediate) First Aid.
  • Experience: Experience providing information and service to the public; experience working in a team environment; experience with point-of-sale equipment operation, cash handling and balancing daily sales.
  • Language: Essential (English) or Bilingual imperative (-B/-B) as applicable.
  • Abilities: Ability to provide a quality visitor experience; ability to follow established practices and procedures and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Personal Suitability: Team-oriented, good judgment, initiative, integrity.
  • Additional Occupational Certifications: Valid driver’s license (may be needed).
  • Additional Experience: Prior experience in a swimming pool and/or recreation facility; janitorial cleaning.
  • Knowledge: Health and Safety practices; knowledge of Canadian Rockies hot springs facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Operational Requirements: Ability to perform tasks including cleaning, snow removal, cash handling, pool and grounds maintenance; assist Lifeguards during major first aid and water rescues under reasonable physical stresses.
Conditions of Employment

You are required to obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance. Willingness to work overtime, shift-work, weekends, and statutory holidays as scheduled. May be required to wear a uniform. Willingness to work and travel in varied terrains and weather conditions.
