Job Description
The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial data to ensure compliance with accounting standards and to optimize the company’s financial performance. He/She contributes to the improvement of accounting processes, prepares detailed financial reports, and collaborates with various teams to support strategic decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Record accounting entries, verify supporting documents, perform monthly reconciliations, and ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
- Participate in optimizing the procurement process and monitor tax credits and audit activities.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for the parent company and its subsidiaries, and contribute to the month-end close process (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Collaborate with FP&A teams to integrate accounting data into financial forecasts.
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Process supplier invoices and support improvements in financial processes (accounts payable, billing, collections, month-end close).
- Manage credit agreements, including submitting financial information, tracking loans, and calculating financial ratios.
- Support insurance renewal requests and provide analysis for internal stakeholders.
- Help implement, integrate, and optimize accounting and financial information systems to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA designation (a strong asset).
- 5 years of accounting experience with a CPA designation, or a minimum of 8 years of experience as an accountant with audit expertise in a professional services firm (an asset).
- Strong autonomy and ability to thrive in an agile, entrepreneurial environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and rigor.
- Proven oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingual, with an advanced level of French proficiency both written and spoken as you will have to communicate with stakeholders accross Canada.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and ERP systems (Dynamics, Great Plains).
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
