Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and execute store expansion strategies within allocated budgets.
Monitor and manage costs associated with store expansion projects.
Ensure return on investment (ROI) for new store openings against projected revenues.
Plan for new projects, new sites, and recommend facility types, approve with Country Managers, and coordinate with the team to ensure timely opening.
Do proper feasibility studies with the FP&A team to ensure store locations are revenue generating.
To advise the company’s management on the future trend of the market and the opportunities for new openings.
To ensure that all agreements and deals with outside developers and contractors are formulated and executed to the best of the company’s interest , and in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.
Get involved in setting the long-term strategic development plan with the Country Managers.
To negotiate with ministries, co-ops, companies or individuals for new projects, new restaurants, relocation, and renovations.
To identify the business development opportunities in the market for both new openings and existing business units, to achieve the most effective plans for opening, and introducing new service modes in restaurants
Build and maintain effective communication with all respective developers in the market and government.
Customer
To respect and support internal and external customers and to strive for their satisfaction. To attend to their needs on priority ensuring the pace of achieving organizational goals.
Ensure new store locations are strategically positioned to enhance customer accessibility and satisfaction.
Monitor customer feedback related to store expansion initiatives.
Internal Business Process
In coordination with the Accounts Department, ensuring adequate Insurance Protection for the assets / property of the company/ facilities in the region always.
Ensure that a Market Development Strategic Plan is in place to identify potential growth, inform the concerned department with plans and updates, and direct the investment involved in the most efficient manner.
Ensure restaurants open with the right facilities, according to the Market Development principles, and coordinate with other departments to ensure our leadership position in the market is maintained.
Follow up on the results of new projects, new openings, relocations, and renovations with departments concerned.
Responsible for setting his department information system.
To communicate, agree upon and obtain all necessary approvals from Franchisors for new openings and remodeling.
In compliance with internal and external requirements, guide the leasing team for proper execution of lease agreements across the UAE and also to oversee the lease administration of the units in JVs.
People
Communicate with co-workers, management and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
Groom the new onboard capable staff members and provide them sufficient coaching and training to escalate them to higher roles and there by tapping their motivation and commitment to deliver more.
Act as a mentor, shaping a reliable and competent department for the future
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
7–10 years of progressive experience in strategic retail store development, preferably within the food and beverage sector.
Proven expertise in lease negotiations, rent reductions, and site acquisition strategies.
Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of driving cross-functional collaboration and influencing key stakeholders.
Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on win-win outcomes.
Superior communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to senior leadership.
Demonstrated perseverance, strategic thinking, and the ability to execute plans effectively in dynamic environments.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a meticulous eye for detail and commercial acumen.
Valid UAE Driving License (Light Vehicle).
In-depth knowledge of the UAE retail landscape, with a strong understanding of food retail industry dynamics, regulations, and market trends.
