Shariah Audit Manager

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Shariah Audit Manager to join our team at a leading bank in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting audits and assessments to ensure that the bank’s operations are compliant with Shariah principles and Islamic financial practices. You will play a key role in managing and guiding the Shariah audit team while collaborating with senior management to strengthen the bank’s Shariah governance framework.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive Shariah audits across various departments to ensure compliance with Shariah guidelines and Islamic banking practices.
2. Review and evaluate financial transactions, products, and services for adherence to Islamic law.
3. Prepare detailed audit reports, highlighting key findings and providing actionable recommendations for improvements.
4. Provide Shariah compliance training to internal stakeholders, ensuring awareness of Shariah principles.
5. Stay updated on developments in Islamic finance and Shariah law, advising management on necessary adjustments.
6. Collaborate with the external Shariah advisory board and regulatory bodies.
7. Lead audits in line with industry standards and report progress to senior management.
8. Develop and implement internal policies to enhance Shariah governance within the bank.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory).
2. Certified Shariah Audit Specialist (CSSA) certification is mandatory.
3. Minimum of 8 to 10+ years of experience in Shariah auditing, Islamic finance, or a related field within the banking industry.
4. Strong understanding of Islamic finance principles and Shariah compliance standards.
5. Familiarity with banking regulations and Islamic finance laws.
6. Ability to lead a team and work independently with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
