The Systems and Network Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of a company's IT infrastructure. This position involves maintaining and troubleshooting systems, networks, and servers to ensure maximum uptime and efficient operation. The technician is pivotal in identifying and resolving problems within the network, ensuring security protocols are followed, and performing regular preventive maintenance to mitigate future disruptions. Collaboration is key, as the technician will often work alongside other IT professionals and departments to implement new technologies and improve existing ones. The position requires a keen eye for detail, solid analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff. The technician is also responsible for documenting processes and updating system records to maintain an organized and efficient IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain computer networks to ensure stability and security.
• Troubleshoot network issues to identify and resolve hardware and software malfunctions.
• Perform regular system and network updates to keep technology current.
• Install and configure hardware and software, ensuring compatibility and operation.
• Assist in the deployment of new systems and migrating existing ones.
• Document network configurations and create detailed reports of work activities.
• Conduct regular backups ensuring data integrity and continuity.
• Implement and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive information.
• Provide technical support to users, addressing and resolving their IT issues.
• Collaborate with IT staff to develop network improvement strategies.
• Analyze and optimize network performance to improve efficiency.
• Stay updated with technological advances to apply the latest innovations.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in systems and network administration.
• Proven expertise with networking protocols and IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, technologies, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
• Certifications like CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar are advantageous.
