As a Senior Cost Estimation Engineer, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive cost analyses and financial evaluations across all project phases, including feasibility study and concept and define stage of the projects. Should have proficiency in economic analysis – NPV, IRR & Life cycle cost saving etc., Familiar with Classifications of Cost estimate, ADNOC cost estimation guidelines, and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for various project phases, including feasibility, concept and define stage for All Classes
- Conduct CAPEX with detailed breakdown cost for each task in the WBS and OPEX analyses to evaluate project costs.
- Proficient in estimating ball park cost for major equipment across diverse disciplines, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of cost estimation in various project contexts.
Economic Analysis
- Calculate Net Present Value (NPV) to assess project profitability.
- Determine annual life cycle savings costs for projects.
- Evaluate investment viability through IRR (Internal Rate of Return) calculations.
- Assess GHG emissions and GHG abatement costs for sustainability considerations.
Sensitivity & Cost Risk Analysis
- Conduct sensitivity analysis to identify the impact of changes in assumptions on costs.
- Consider potential economic risks and their impact on the project.
- Float inquiries to suppliers/vendors and review offers.
- Conduct meetings with relevant discipline engineers to gather technical information.
Procedure / Report Development
- Prepare the cost estimation plan & methodology
- Prepare the detailed Cost estimation report as per the Client requirements and guidelines.
- Prepare the report based on a recommendation on the economic analysis.
- Develop procedures for preparing estimates for green field, brownfield, onshore and offshore Hydrocarbon/Power/Infrastructure & Industrial projects.
Validation and Verification
- Examine the scope of work, PFD, plot plan, detailed drawings and project schedule to comprehend the project's scope, essential information for preparing an accurate cost estimate.
- Validate and verify estimates using high-level norms, comparing with previous estimates, outcome costs, and vendor prices.
- Identify risks and set contingency plans for each stage cost estimate.
Quotations and Database Management
- Obtain budget quotations from material and equipment vendors and evaluate their costs.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost estimation database.
Workshop
- Participate and provide options for cost reduction during value engineering session.
- Attend workshops with Client and support in CAPEX/OPEX Estimation reviews
Additional exposure /Market Analysis / Membership
- Monitor changes in market prices and advancements in work tools within the technical domain.
- Analyse developments to ensure an optimum level of knowledge and estimate costs for future projects
- Preferably a member of a professional Cost Estimation Association
- Knowledge of relevant software for Engineering Consultancy Cost Estimation
