A leading company in the oil and gas sector is looking for a Structural Engineer in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and integrity assessment of offshore and onshore structures, collaborating with diverse engineering teams and ensuring safety compliance. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, significant project experience, and proficiency in structural analysis software. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, integrity assessment, and lifecycle optimization of onshore and offshore structures used in oil and gas operations. The ideal candidate will bring advanced engineering knowledge, hands-on project experience, and a proactive approach to solving complex structural challenges in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design of fixed and floating offshore platforms, topsides, jackets, modules, pipe racks, and subsea structures in accordance with international standards (API, AISC, ISO, DNV, etc.).
Develop detailed engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, design calculations, and reports.
Review and validate structural integrity under static, dynamic, and environmental loading conditions.
Ensure designs are safe, cost-effective, and meet client, industry, and regulatory requirements.
Interface with other engineering disciplines, procurement teams, construction personnel, and clients to ensure design integration and technical accuracy.
Support site construction and fabrication through technical queries, inspections, and design modifications.
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as ANSYS, SACS, STAAD.Pro, or equivalent.
Lead and mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews and technical audits.
Ensure timely delivery of assigned work within schedule and budget constraints.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
Registered Professional Engineer (PE, CEng, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in structural engineering within the oil and gas sector, including upstream, midstream, or downstream projects.
Demonstrated experience with offshore and onshore structural systems.
Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., SACS, ANSYS, STAAD.Pro, Abaqus, etc.).
Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of international codes and standards (API RP2A, DNVGL, ISO, AISC, ASCE).
Excellent knowledge of load combinations, fatigue analysis, and seismic design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and 3D modeling tools (PDMS, E3D, Tekla Structures).
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and in fast-paced project environments.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and project ownership.
Preferred Experience
Experience in greenfield and brownfield projects.
Exposure to EPC / EPCM environments.
Experience with modularization, transportation, and offshore installation techniques.
Working knowledge of structural health monitoring and asset integrity assessments.
