The Information Security Officer in banking is responsible for safeguarding the bank's information and technology assets. This pivotal role entails the development, implementation, and management of effective information security practices in alignment with industry standards and regulations. As cyber threats continue to evolve, the position of Information Security Officer is critical in protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access, breaches, and other security threats. This role requires someone with a strong background in information security technologies, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, and capable of leading the bank's cyber defense initiatives to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.

• Develop and implement comprehensive information security policies that comply with banking regulations.
• Conduct regular assessments to identify security risks and vulnerabilities in banking systems.
• Oversee the design and installation of security systems to protect sensitive data.
• Lead incident response initiatives and ensure timely mitigation of security breaches.
• Evaluate emerging security technologies and integrate them into the bank's infrastructure.
• Manage access control systems to ensure authorized access to information assets.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure security awareness and training programs.
• Develop and maintain security risk assessments and disaster recovery plans.
• Report regularly to senior management on the effectiveness of the security program.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies during security investigations.
• Stay updated with industry standards and best practices in information security.
• Prepare for and manage internal and external security audits and assessments.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in information security within the banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of industry regulations such as GLBA, FFIEC, and PCI-DSS.
• Proven experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection, and VPNs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address security challenges.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey security issues to stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are highly desirable.
