General Background

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect and assist refugees and other persons of concern. Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) sits within UNHCR's Division of External Relations (DER) and is responsible for mobilizing resources from the private sector for refugees. UNHCR has developed a $1 Billion Private Sector Fundraising Strategy 2018‑2025. This strategy focuses on both Individual Giving and Private Sector Partnerships and identifies priority fundraising markets and regions.

Job Purpose

This role will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the content production for the Private Sector Partnership (PSP) MENA team. The incumbent will help in coordinating the traffic of the in‑house creative team responsible for crafting content and supporting productions for all PSP MENA teams and diverse audiences, including the wider public in MENA and globally, digital influencers and GWA, media partners, high‑net‑worth individuals (HNIW), private corporations, and foundations. The role will also act as a liaison between the PSP team, the field and the Global PSP team in the planning, execution, and delivery of a range of content assets for fundraising and engagement purposes. The incumbent will also support in the drafting of English and Arabic copy, review and quality assurance across content.

The position demands a balance of language skills, creative vision, project management and coordination skills to ensure the PSP MENA creative team delivers timely content for major campaigns like Ramadan and Winter, used both regionally and globally. This content includes storytelling videos, landing pages, infographics, emails, impact reports, and other assets. Constant communication with the wider PSP network, regional bureaus, country operations, and field colleagues is crucial. The incumbent will need to constantly look for ways to better leverage emergencies, break through the noise, and develop cutting‑edge approaches which will increasingly improve UNHCR’s positioning, awareness raising, brand and income through creative assets. The incumbent will also have to stay alert to identify key opportunities, and reputation risks which could negatively impact UNHCR’s fundraising potential, paying careful attention to ethical guidelines. The role requires equal skills in both English and Arabic writing and reviewing.
