Study equipment failure data in CMMS to continually improve and implement the most appropriate maintenance strategy.
Advise maintenance supervisors on critical and complex jobs to ensure proper maintenance procedures are followed.
The challenge in this role is to analyze complex situations to break them down into manageable parts and recommend best-fit solutions.

Reliability
- Develop/improve predictive, preventive, and major maintenance programs for plant equipment/systems in his plant/area to improve reliability.
- Study equipment failure data in CMMS/other records to implement the most appropriate maintenance strategy.
- Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and design review on equipment failures to identify corrective actions/modifications/repairs required. Implement new technologies as required.
- Provide field support and advise other Engineers, Supervisors, and Technicians on critical maintenance activities to ensure correct procedures are followed.
- Review requirements for materials, spare parts, and obsolete items, advise on stock levels and material descriptions, and provide suggestions for alternatives or interchangeability to enhance reliability standards of the plant.
- Perform technical evaluation & inspection for expensive/critical items to ensure specifications.
- Identify Turn Around (TA) job scope, and lead major shutdown/TA activities so that execution is done timely.
Quality Compliance & Cost
- Identify statutory requirements coming from government/ADNOC COP/suppliers/international standards and make procedures, work instructions/checklists to comply with it.
- Participate in internal/external audits & prepare a plan to close audit points.
- Provide inputs for preparation of budgets, PA business plan by identifying specific items and monitor variance to control the cost.
Startup Accountability
- Discuss the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up schedule and get involved where required for critical equipment.
- Assist in scheduled pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up maintenance and troubleshooting maintenance activities on large and complex equipment to ensure proper operating conditions of Company’s assets and adherence to international standards as well as Borouge General Standards.
- Coordinate and provide technical support to shift personnel for any requirement related to the job.
- Guide the electrical maintenance team for the assigned plant area with objectives to minimize failures, reduce pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up delays, and ensure equipment reliability & availability.
- Conduct visual, close, and detailed inspection of installed electrical equipment and follow-up punch list clearance.
- Witness and approve functional tests, equipment run tests, etc.
- Participate in safety audits and area walk downs and agree on the acceptance list before Ready for Start Up.
- Review and approve procurement of required spare parts based on equipment criticality analyses.
- Receive and physically inspect delivered spare parts.
- Prepare master database for all systems & assets including criticality assessment.
- Coordinate to create all functional locations.
- Develop predictive, preventive, and major maintenance programs for plant equipment/systems in his plant/area to improve reliability.
- Maintain equipment files that contain equipment datasheet, maintenance logbook, history, and any other relevant records like calibration reports, checklist, etc.
- Attend interface meetings with project teams and custodian departments to facilitate resolution of issues and promote good working relations.
- Review and approve mechanical completion dossiers for his discipline.
- Prepare project close out and “lessons learnt” report of the project on completion.
- Develop procedures, work instructions, and checklists to be used on the execution of maintenance works and contribute to the development of procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure that electrical systems on facilities can be operated in a safe and environmentally sound manner to comply with all applicable local laws and regulations in accordance with company guidelines and complex HSE policy and procedures.
- Conduct and participate in task risk assessment and responsible for maintaining safety at work location.
- Process and manage warranty claims related to his discipline in coordination with the warranty manager.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, B.Sc. (4 Years)

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
- Minimum 8 years of work experience in installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of a wide range of electrical systems of production facilities in refinery/petrochemical/Oil & Gas industries.
- Maintenance engineering experience with HV, MV, and LV motors.
- Vast experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of power electronic equipment such as AC/DC UPS, Variable Speed Drive, Converter, and Electrical Heater.
- Vast experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of Switchgear/MCC, Transformer, Diesel Engine Generator, and Power Factor Correction Panel.
- Familiar with vendor software such as Schneider PowerSuite, ABB PCM600, and other VSD communication software from Leroy Somer, Ansaldo, Danfoss, and SEW Euro.
- Thorough knowledge of HSE requirements for field maintenance jobs.
- Have excellent safety record and a stable employment track record.
- Good communication and technical report writing skills in English.
- Team working attitude in a multi-cultural, multi-national work environment.
- Practical knowledge of CMMS systems like SAP.
