Job summary
A prominent construction management company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a contract administrator to oversee the entire administration of construction contracts. This includes managing claims, liaising for contractor qualifications, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field, with over 8 years of experience in contract preparation within a large organization, and proven negotiation skills. This role demands a strong understanding of commercial management principles and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in contract preparation within a large organization.
- Certification in supply chain or contracts is preferred (e.g., CIPS).
- Technical understanding of building contracts and tendering processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage full administration of construction contracts.
- Support construction and project controls team on contractual aspects.
- Review contractual claims validity and recommend actions.
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety policies.
Skills
Education
- Full administration of construction contracts including all related correspondence.
- Support to the Construction and Project Controls Team on all Contractual aspects.
- Review and analyse contractual claims validity and recommend appropriate action as and when assigned.
- Followup proper closeout of completed contracts with respect to the issuance of required completion certificates release letters the return of performance bank guarantees etc.
- Liaise with the PreQualification function to plan surveys for qualifying new contractors/suppliers including shop surveys.
- Assist with preparing standard tender documents including standard forms of contracts for all types of works services consultancy and manpower in coordination with legal audit and finance.
- Participate in preparing/updating Companys Contracts Policy and Procedures and preparing control management documents such as Tender Board terms of reference.
- Ensure feedback information related to tenderers performance during the tendering stage and for building the database.
- Implement approved Section policies processes systems standards and procedures to support the Sections work programs in line with Company and International standards.
- Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.
- Informs themselves of the relevant Quality Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Policies Manuals and Procedures in place within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
- Bachelors degree in engineering / QS or a relevant degree.
- 8 years of experience in the preparation of contracts within a large organization.
- Certification in supply chain or contracts will be merited i.e. CIPS or similar.
- Technical understanding of building reviewing and finalizing various contracts and tendering processes.
- Sound understanding of commercial management principles with technical knowledge and diversified capabilities in contracts and risks management costeffectiveness legal/economic aspects.
- Good understanding of regulation and control and other relevant legal guidelines.
- Good contract negotiation and preparation skills.
