A leading recruitment agency in South Africa seeks an Assistant Stock Accountant to join a dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a BCom degree and have over 3 years of experience in stock accounting. Responsibilities include managing stock, analyzing variances, and overseeing foreign currency transactions related to stock procurement. This role emphasizes precision and proactive problem-solving, ensuring inventory accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience within a similar role.
- Experience in inventory management is required.
- Manufacturing industry experience is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Assist with accurate stock accounting, including valuation and reconciliation.
- Analyze stock variances and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor and report on inventory movements and slow-moving stock.

You will assist with stock accounting processes, ensuring accurate valuation, reconciliation, and reporting of all inventory-related transactions. You will support managing forex components related to stock procurement, supplier payments, and month-end processes.
- Assist with accurate stock accounting, including valuation, adjustments, and reconciliation
- Analyze stock variances and investigate discrepancies across warehouses/sites
- Assist with managing the financial impact of foreign currency transactions related to stock purchases
- Monitor and report on inventory movements, slow-moving stock, and write-offs
- Support costing, forecasting, and budgeting processes with accurate stock data
- Completed BCom degree
- 3+ years experience within a similar role
- Inventory experience required
- Manufacturing industry experience beneficial
